  KATA INFORMATION

                                                   OJU Spring Kata Course August 28th 31st 2008 Olympic Park Sydney Australia.

                                                   All OJU member countries should make the most of this opportunity to send Judoka for

                                                   Instruction Examiners and Kata Judges for certification

                                                    There will be a four day Kata Course held with the purpose of teaching the Kodokan Standard Kata.

                                                    This course will be supported by the Kodokan through Daigo-sensei who has agreed to send two Kata Sensei from the Kodokan.

                              The Kata to be taught will be;

                              Kime No Kata

                              Kodokan Goshin Jutsu No Kata

                              Katame No Kata

                              Nage No Kata

                              Ju No Kata

                              Desired outcomes;

                                                     1. Issuing of OJU competency certificates for Participants

                                                     2. Issuing of OJU Examiners/Judges certificates

                                                   3.  Selection of Kata Pairs to Compete at the IJF International, Paris, October 08

 

Who should attend?

Restricted to: 1st KYU and above.

Kata competitors who wish to, or who are currently competing in Kata.

Excellent opportunity to get the Kodokan refinements of their chosen Kata

Grade Examiners who wish to be certified in particular Kata.

This is a must to up-date knowledge, skills and be a certified examiner

Kata Judges who are or wish to pursue a career in Kata tournament Judging.

Learn the fine points of Kata and the IJF official scoring system. Be certified to judge at tournaments.

Note: This certificate is restricted to two Kata at any one time

There are Accor Hotels within the Olympic Park, walking distance from the North Hall Dojo.                                                                                                                     

 Best to shop around for rates on this site.

Also there is a very good train service into Olympic Park for the City where there is more to do for partners, dinning out etc.

 

RECEPTION

Will be held in the area of Olympic Park. Saturday night, August 30th. Final details will be advised during the course.
