Woy Woy Judo Club First Opened its doors in 1976 at the Woy Woy Recreation Centre, Mc Masters Road Woy Woy as the "1770 Judo Club".

In 1982, Chief Instructor Danny Simmons took over the club and registered it with the Judo Federation.

The Club has always operated as a Not-For-Profit Organization and has proven over the years to be one of the strongest Judo clubs in NSW with

multiple State Representatives & Australian Champions.

All our Coaches and Administration Officers volunteer their time and knowledge.

All Instructors are Registered with the Department of Sport and Recreation, The Judo Federation of Australia [NSW] Inc and

The Black Belt Register. All are accredited with the National Coach's Accreditation Scheme, hold a current First aid certificate and have been

screened in accordance to the Child Protection Policy.

The clubs original "permanent" venue was at the Peninsula Community Centre for a period of twenty five years, but, due to a decision by the

Board Of Management to restructure, we were removed and our membership suffered as well as us having to forgo our long term relationship

with the "Okayama Judo Renmei" in Japan.

Solid searching for a new venue resulted in us moving to the Ettalong Progress Hall.

This unfortunately lasted only 10 months after Gosford City Council Community Services closed the Hall in December 2009.

Again we were forced into a "no venue" situation in the midst of vital competition time. We have since been fortunate enough to relocate to the Ettalong Senior Citizens Centre, Cnr Karingi St & Broken Bay Rd.
